NUOVO ORDINE

Alexander Frizzera was born as a musician, storyteller, and music producer. In recent years, he has expanded his artistic language, integrating the art of cinema into his repertoire.

Visionary, eccentric, and profoundly original, he elegantly fuses classical forms with contemporary influences, giving life to a unique, nuanced, and refined aesthetic.

His mission is to chart the map for the New Millennium, to restore Italian art to its place of honor on the international stage, and to contribute to shaping a renewed vision of the future.

NUOVO ORDINE

The first breakthrough and international acclaim

From an early age, Alexander Frizzera was deeply fascinated by the world of photography:

“My father used to develop analog photos, and I was often surrounded by antique cameras, of which he was an avid collector.”

Nuovo Ordine was born from a song written and produced by Alexander himself, with Libellule, his music project. The track features retro-electro hints reminiscent of Kraftwerk, Moroder-style synths, tribal percussion, and Arcade Fire influences. The lyrics are surrealist and futuristic, with populist undertones and echoes of Marinetti. The result is a universe brimming with vigor, ideas, and stimulation.

Almost unconsciously, the song evoked Rome—the capital—as the symbolic center of the empire, particularly the EUR district. The discovery of this iconic location, long overlooked in the collective imagination, became a key visual and narrative element: a symbol of modern rationalism, EUR fascinates with its symmetry and architectural grandeur, offering an imperial and photographic aesthetic. At the same time, it conveys a sense of emptiness and dehumanization.

Nuovo Ordine is a work dense with meaning and narrative, capable of capturing the imagination of a near future. Through stark black and white, bold lines, and an enigmatic protagonist steeped in symbolism, the short film strikes a deep chord in those searching for meaning and answers.

Frizzera’s work surprises for its inventiveness and determination: with a budget of less than €500, he personally oversaw every phase of the production — from writing and recording the track, to mixing and performance, all the way to the cinematic realization, where he took on the roles of director of photography, director, costume designer, and editor.

“It was a huge undertaking, demanding and at times painful,” he recalls. “I learned an enormous amount. Maybe next time I’ll try to find someone to give me a hand.”

This effort was followed by almost immediate recognition:

“I stumbled upon the FilmFreeway portal by chance — I didn’t know it before — and decided to submit the short to a few festivals.”

Within just six months, Nuovo Ordine was selected by more than 20 international festivals, earning numerous awards and accolades, including:

  • International Film Festival

  • Best Hollywood Day Short Film Festival

  • New York Film & Cinematography Awards

  • Berlin Indie Film Festival

  • Cyprus Music Video Festival

  • Cannes Indie Shorts Awards

  • Montpellier Indie Film Festival (MONTIFF)

  • Toronto Lift-Off Film Festival

  • Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival

  • Madrid Indie Film Festival (MADRIFF)

It was also named Finalist and Winner at the following festivals:

  • London Global Film Awards — Winner

  • Berlin Kiez Film Festival — Winner

  • Metropolis Film Festival — Winner

  • Mannheim Arts and Film Festival — Winner

  • Venezia Shorts

  • Santorini Film Festival

  • Belgrade International Film Festival

  • Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival

With the new season just beginning and many more festivals ahead, Alexander remains optimistic: he believes Nuovo Ordine still has much to tell and to conquer.

“In the age of air and fluidity, what holds the greatest value are ideas and vision,” says Frizzera.

Thus, this young and promising director steps with determination onto the artistic stage, seeking like-minded people: spirits ready to embrace new visions, to bring a breath of innovation, research, and experimentation into a stagnant Italy. With a genuine desire to create a better world, Frizzera addresses the new generations, offering hope, inspiration, and future.

The New Project

Now more than ever—with the world on fire, old systems collapsing, environmental crisis, mental health under siege, and exponential technological growth—we feel the urgent need for new maps to navigate reality. We live in an age of informational and sensory saturation. Amid the noise, our soul hungers for meaning. We lack something authentic, something that resonates deeply, that gives purpose and legitimacy to our existence.

The death of God, nihilism, and postmodern cynicism have left behind a vast cultural void. So what can truly guide us? Narrative. The oldest, most powerful, and enduring of all human arts. Since the dawn of time, stories, myths, and legends have lit the way through our darkest moments. It is time to rediscover them, reinvent them, and bring them forward once again.

Quantum Cowboy, the new project by Alexander Frizzera—artist, director, composer—is precisely this: a new story for a new era. A retro-futurist fable that blends the epic flavor of our beloved spaghetti westerns with the psycho-spiritual futurism of the new age, sculpted through a visionary, personal, and original direction.

Its protagonist is a curious modern Wanderer who, trapped in a suffocating daily matrix, sets out to escape the anxiety and monotony of stillness. An ordinary young man, swept into an adventure larger than himself: a bicycle, a raging train, an unlikely guide, a desert, a bar suspended between dimensions. An initiatory journey. An inner odyssey.

The soundtrack, composed by Libellule, fuses the sonorities of Morricone with a futuristic, fresh, avant-garde vision. An emotional and hypnotic blend that accompanies the narrative arc with intensity and contrast.

To support this project means to give space to new stories—stories that can speak to those who search, those who are lost, those who have stopped believing, and those who long to begin again.

Quantum Cowboy is a narrative manifesto for the modern soul—one that does not sell answers but asks the right questions, to restore hope, beauty, and vision to a world in transformation.
